Calstock
Calstock is a picturesque village situated right on the River Tamar with an impressive viaduct running across the valley.
It is a great place to start a walking or cycling tour around the valley, taking in the breathtaking views and peaceful scenery.

Tamar Valley Donkey Park
Cornwall’s only donkey sanctuary and located within 10 minutes walk from Honicombe, the Tamar Valley Donkey Park houses over 25 donkeys on site.
The attraction is also home to goats, ferrets, pigs, sheep, rabbits, chickens and an adventure playground.
Why not adopt a donkey to help with the costs of looking after these gentle animals.

Cotehele
Enchanted and remote, Cotehele is a Medieval House that was owned by the Edgecumbe family for almost six centuries.
It has beautiful walks and gardens leading down to the river Tamar, from which you can take a boat trip. Superb collections of original furniture, armour and tapestries are housed in its rooms.
A medieval house now run by the National Trust and open to the public, this grand house is only minutes away from Tamar Valley Resort by car.
The impressive building and gardens are a great place to explore with exhibitions and events running all year around.

Launceston Steam Railway & Castle
Fantastic views are on offer both from the ramparts of the impressive Norman-era Launceston Castle and the recently refurbished Launceston Steam Railway.
Travel through the countryside in style viewing the glorious countryside from steam locomotives built in Victoria’s reign and soak up the history of the area.
Tavistock
A classic West Country Market town and a shoppers delight with local produce and independent shops.
Situated on the South West edge of the Dartmoor National Park and a 15 minute drive from Tamar Valley Resort, Tavistock is famous for being the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake and for its annual “Goosey Fair”.

The re-designed Wharf is now a bustling entertainment area with live concerts, theatre, cinema, art gallery and piano bar
The town retains its market-soul with a permanent covered market and a regular farmers’ market attracting visitors from miles around to sample local delights.
Plymouth & the Barbican Maritime Village
In years gone by, seafarers set sail from the heart of the city of Plymouth; a short trip across the river from Tamar Valley Resort.
Some of the famous explorers who set sail from this naval town include Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh.
